An event lets you organize a group ride ahead of time: you choose a route, a date and a time, you invite the participants, and on the day everyone starts from the event page.
Creating an event #
An event is based on a route you’ve already saved (Create a route).
- Open Preparation › Event and tap Create an Event.
- Fill in the Name, the Date and the Time.
- Under Route, tap Select a Route, then Choose this route.
- Optional: invite friends under Friend(s) and add a Description.
- Tap Create an Event at the bottom of the screen.
Invited friends get an email. To edit or delete the event, the organizer uses the menu at the top right of the page (Edit or Delete).
Inviting participants #
On the event page, under Participant(s), tap Invite and send the link by text, WhatsApp, email…
The invited person must have installed BikeCompanion and created their account: when they open the link, they’re signed up for the event.
On the day #
The organizer opens the page and taps Start this Event, which is only active on the day of the event. Participants can only join after this start.
When the page shows “The ride has started”, each participant taps Start from this Event: their recording starts with the same route.
