Live Climb shows live where you are on a climb: distance and elevation left to the top, current grade and climb profile. It works when you ride with a route, drawn in the planner or imported: BikeCompanion spots its climbs automatically.
Without a route, Live Climb doesn’t appear, but the peaks you climb are detected after the ride: see How are the peaks you’ve climbed detected?.
During the ride #
The round button with a mountain icon, in the bottom bar, lists the route’s climbs with their profile.
As you approach a climb, a tab with a mountain icon appears above the metrics panel: tap it to open Live Climb. It first shows the distance to the foot of the climb (“Start in”). On the climb, it shows your progress, the current grade, the distance to the top (“Peak in”) and the elevation left, along with your usual metrics.
Live Climb closes on its own at the top or if you leave the climb.
Opening Live Climb automatically (PRO) #
To have it open on its own as you approach each climb, turn on Open live climb / segment in Other › User Preferences, under Ride. This setting also applies to Live Segment.
