Tips

Difficulty breakdown: This climb has an atypical, demanding profile. The difficulty lies in its two-part structure: a very steep first 1.5 km (8 to 11%), followed by a recovery section of nearly 2 km (gradients of 1% to -1%). The real test comes in the last third, with a 12% ramp over 500m, topping out at a 19% wall over 500m before the finish. This succession of extreme gradients at the end of the route makes it a very selective climb.

Tips for managing your effort:

1. Pace yourself in two phases: Don't let the steep start suck you in. Ride at a controlled pace to save your legs for the long descent/flat, which you should use to recover actively.

2. Save something for the finale: The final section (KM 3.5 to 5.1) is where it's decided. Hit it with fresh legs and mentally prepare for the 19% segment, where you'll need a very easy gear.

3. Anticipate the changes of rhythm: The sudden shifts in gradient demand real adaptability. Stay focused on your cadence and power so you don't blow up on the hardest parts.

About the climbs to this summit

Riders who have climbed Pasierbiecka Góra agree on the scenery, especially on its south-facing slopes, which offer a superb outlook over the Beskid Wyspowy and, on clear days, all the way to the Tatras.

The climb is often compared to that of the neighboring Kamionna, with a similar profile. The summit itself, though completely wooded, doesn't spoil the ride at all thanks to these remarkable viewpoints along part of the route.

The riding is mixed: a significant share is on paved roads, which some riders find less pleasant than a dirt track. A popular loop of about 2-3 hours goes through Młynne, Makowica, Kamionna and Pasierbiec.

Despite the tarmac sections, the reports generally describe a pleasant, easy outing, perfect for a half-day ride, whether on foot or on the bike.
