Climb analysis:
This Category 3 climb has a contrasting profile. The difficulty is concentrated in the central kilometre (KM 1.0 to 2.0), with punchy gradients of 9 to 10%. The first two and the last half-kilometre, at 3%, offer recovery sections. The total elevation gain of 183m over 3.4km is moderate, but the steep stretch demands careful pacing.
Pacing tips:
1. Save something for the middle: Don't go too hard in the opening kilometres at 3%. Hit the 10% section with fresh legs.
2. Keep a steady rhythm on the steep bits: Maintain a high cadence and steady power between KM 1.0 and 2.0 to avoid blowing up.
3. Use the finish to recover: The final section at 3% lets you ease off a little before the summit.
