Great app, simple and effective. It does a great job of replacing a bike GPS. It's all in there (stats, navigation, tracking, numbers, progress on mountain climbs, Strava connection… and I still haven't finished testing everything). And since you (or I) often ride with your phone anyway, why have 2 devices when one can do it all? Perfect, thanks!
“No need for a GPS bike computer anymore”
That's the line that comes up most often. BikeCompanion turns your smartphone into a bike computer: speed, distance, elevation gain, gradient, heart rate and power show up on screens you lay out yourself, and the app connects to your Bluetooth sensors and your Garmin Varia radar.
Excellent app that's every bit as good as the various GPS bike computers I've owned (Bryton and Sigma). I added all my sensors without any problem (heart rate, cadence and radar light). Really great!
After testing other apps, I've finally found the one that will let me retire my old bike computer. BikeCompanion is complete, well designed and practical. Routes, navigation, Bluetooth sensor support, Apple Watch interface, nothing's missing 👍. Add responsive support and there are your 5 stars.
Everything you could want for route planning and navigation, and it correctly recognizes all my sensors. Even power pedals are supported and properly analyzed! Not even the expensive Garmin Edge computers could do that.

Plan your ride and let the app guide you
You draw your route on your phone or computer, or let the app suggest a loop. During the ride, the map shows you the line to follow. With PRO, voice guidance announces every turn and the route recalculates if you go off course.
Excellent app for occasional and experienced cyclists alike who don't have a bike computer. Easy route creation, route following and you can see where to refill your water. Everything is very simple to use and clear.
Simple, effective app, recalculates the route if you stray from it, several route suggestions, and you can create your own. I got the pro version, which I recommend.

Climbs: the screen climbers love
As you get close to a climb, the app switches to a dedicated screen: the current gradient, plus the distance and elevation left to the top. After the ride, the climbs you've ridden are added to your list.
Great app dedicated to tracking bike rides. No need for a GPS bike computer anymore, everything's included: route creation and following, ride analysis, works with various Bluetooth sensors, weather, live tracking with a dedicated display for climbing passes or summits (gradient, distance…).
BikeCompanion is an awesome app! It's super easy to use, really intuitive, and has great features. The climb metrics are spot on and very detailed, which makes it perfect for tackling mountain passes and high-altitude summits. Definitely recommend it both for cycle touring and for training in the mountains.
Very complete app. Route creation/import, navigation, bike computer, automatic progress screen on climbs, analysis/stats… everything is well thought out, smooth and in the right place. Real-time location sharing is really handy too. Also great: the feature to find nearby climbs, with a route calculated to get there. The perfect companion for training and racing.
Super effective! I go over my pedal strokes after the toughest climbs, it helps me pace my effort.
Riding with others
On a group ride, everyone sees where the others are on the map, and the walkie-talkie lets you talk without taking your hands off the bars. Live location sharing (PRO) also lets your family and friends follow your ride.
This app is the perfect companion when I'm planning my bike rides and all along the route too. Real-time progress on climbs, friends' positions on the map (to race each other hehe) and the user-friendly interface are a real plus! The walkie-talkie feature, which lets you talk with your friends during the ride, totally won me over! Love it!
Whether you're just starting out or have been riding for 20 years
A lot of reviews come from new cyclists. They talk less about features than about wanting to ride: the points, the leaderboards and the summary after each ride make you want to get back out there.
New to cycling, I was looking for a simple GPS to see my routes and the distances I'd covered. Knowing nothing about it, I downloaded 2 apps to choose from. With BikeCompanion, I found a tool that opens up loads of possibilities I hadn't even thought of. I'm very happy with it, it adds a lot to my riding as I'm just getting started.

I haven't often seen an app as well designed and engineered as Bike Companion. As my cycling improves from use of the app, it will still have more benefits I can use and grow into. Instead of becoming less useful, it grows with me over time and usage!
I've used other software like this and was often disappointed with the results. With BikeCompanion, I've found a real gem. You can easily and safely read, live: distance covered and still to go, speed, gradient, elevation, wind direction and speed (important in Brittany) and much more. On top of that, it motivates you with points and rankings (something I wasn't interested in at first), which turns out to be really beneficial.
