For the vast majority of cyclists, that is more than enough to keep track of their progress.

But if you are one of the data lovers — the kind of rider who enjoys digging into the numbers and steering their form day by day — the intervals.icu integration lets you go further.

Once you link intervals.icu (from the “Other” menu in the app), all your activities are uploaded there automatically.

Why connect intervals.icu?

BikeCompanion is built for the ride itself and its immediate analysis: navigation, sensors, real-time data, a detailed summary once you are home. intervals.icu takes over on the long time scale: how your condition evolves over weeks and months, and building towards a goal.

Once your activities are synced, you get, free of charge:

Fitness / Fatigue / Form (CTL, ATL, TSB): the training load model is recalculated with every ride uploaded. That is what tells you whether you are progressing, whether you are piling up too much fatigue, and how to peak on a given date — a goal event, a gran fondo, a mountain pass.

Power curve and estimated FTP: your best efforts from 5 seconds to 5 hours are compared across periods. You can see straight away whether your sprint is improving while your endurance stalls, or the other way round. FTP is re-estimated automatically from your actual efforts, with no dedicated test.

Zone distribution and interval detection: intervals.icu automatically splits your sessions into efforts and works out the time spent in each power and heart rate zone. Handy for checking that an “endurance” ride really was one.

Cardiac decoupling and drift: comparing power and heart rate over a long ride reveals your resistance to fatigue and how well your fuelling worked.

Calendar and wellness tracking: weight, sleep, HRV and how you feel are overlaid on training load, so you can spot the signs of overload before they turn into a bad day.

Permanent history: all your data stays exportable and comparable season after season.

In practice, the more complete and gap-free your rides arrive, the more reliable these calculations are. That is the whole point of automatic upload: no ride forgotten, so no break in your training load history.

Connecting your account

Open BikeCompanion and go to Other → intervals.icu.

Tap Connect intervals.icu.

You are redirected to the intervals.icu authorisation page. Sign in if needed.

Tap Authorize to allow BikeCompanion to upload your activities.

You are taken back to the app automatically: the status now shows Connected as, with the name of your intervals.icu account.

From that moment on, every activity you record with BikeCompanion is uploaded to intervals.icu, automatically and with nothing for you to do.

What gets uploaded

At the end of every ride, BikeCompanion uploads the complete GPX file of the activity, which contains:

the GPS track, the distance, the elevation gain and the altitude;

power, heart rate and cadence if sensors are connected;

stopped time and temperature;

the name and type of the activity as set in BikeCompanion.

The upload is triggered as soon as the activity is saved. If you have no network when you finish your ride, the transfer is queued and retried automatically as soon as the connection is back.

Avoiding duplicates with Strava or Garmin

intervals.icu can already pull your activities from Strava or Garmin Connect. If you also enable uploading from BikeCompanion, the same ride can show up twice.

Our recommendation: pick a single upload source for intervals.icu. If BikeCompanion is your main recorder, turn off the Strava → intervals.icu sync in the intervals.icu settings (Settings → Strava). Your rides will keep reaching Strava as usual.

If a duplicate does appear anyway, delete it straight from intervals.icu: this affects neither BikeCompanion nor Strava.

Uploading an activity manually

A ride did not make it? Open it in the Activities tab, then use Share / Export → Send to intervals.icu. This also works for older rides recorded before you linked your account.

Disconnecting your account

In Other → intervals.icu, tap Disconnect. Activities already transferred stay in your intervals.icu account; only future uploads are stopped. You can also revoke access from intervals.icu, under Settings → Developer Settings.

BikeCompanion already gives you a full breakdown of every ride: power, heart rate, zones, cadence, elevation, climb segments and effort comparison.
